Documentation is boring.

Why are developers adverse to documenting (literally) software systems they’ve worked on? The popular saying is that the code should be the documentation and I agree with that. As uncle Bob Martin encourages in his SOLID principles of software design, the philosophy that code should be documentation hits a home run. Provided the software follows the SOLID principles then literal documentation is absolutely unnecessary. Can’t see why some people won’t see that. Yeessh!
